The El Dorado High School Beta Club is a national honor and service club which exists to encourage scholarship and leadership and to serve the school and community. The high school principal is the head of the Beta Club and has the authority to dismiss any member who conduct is not in keeping with Beta standards. Membership is open to any sophomore, junior, senior student who maintains a 3.0 GPA and whose character is approved by the faculty. Membership entitles a student to receive a gold Beta pin and a monthly magazine. In order to remain in the Beta Club, members must abide by the local constitution which demands the student maintain a 3.0 GPA (with no F’s and not more than one (1) D on the transcript), render service hours, and attend a required number of meetings per year. Membership is granted on application and the payment of dues.
