The El Dorado School District is pleased to announce Ashlie Odom as the New Teacher Induction Program Director. Mrs. Odom brings a wealth of experience and a strong educational background to her new role.
Mrs. Odom began her career at El Dorado High School, where she taught 9th to 12th grade, specializing in ESOL and Dyslexia Intervention. Her dedication to education led her to serve as an Instructional Facilitator at a middle school in Texarkana. In this role, she led campus professional development, facilitated collaborative team meetings, and played a key role in establishing a viable curriculum.
During her time in Texarkana, Mrs. Odom played an instrumental role in the development of the K-12 virtual education program for the school district. Her experience and leadership in instructional development and curriculum design have made her a valuable addition to the ESD team.
Mrs. Odom's training with the PLC Coaching Institute and Instructional Leadership Development with the Arkansas Leadership Academy further enhanced her ability to support teachers and mentor staff across the district.
In her new role, Mrs. Odom says she is eager to support the work of novice teachers and mentoring staff. "As the Teacher Induction Program Director, I’m so excited to support the work of our novice teachers and our mentoring staff across the district. When teachers collaborate and support the work of other teachers, everyone benefits, especially our students. It’s fulfilling to be a part of that work."
The Teacher Induction Program is innovative and sets ESD apart from other school districts. Mrs. Odom's leadership and dedication to education will undoubtedly contribute to the success of the program and benefit students and teachers alike.
