4th Grade Classes are learning about point of view in their reading and social studies class with Mrs. Cupp.
Last week they read a traditional version of the fairy tale The Three Little Pigs told in the 3rd person point of view and The True Story of the Three Little Pigs, a modern retelling of the fairy tale told from the 1st person point of view.
On Wednesday and Thursday of this week each class held a mock trial for Alexander T. Wolf who was charged with the murders of Little Pig #1 and Little Pig #2 and the attempted murder of Little Pig #3. A judge presided over the trial and Mr. Wood S. Mann was the District Attorney. After hearing from several witnesses including Pork E. Pig, Granny Wolf, and Dr. Ralph A. Wolf, the jury deliberated to determine the verdict. Mrs. Cupp, Mrs. Glover, and Ms. Lee’s homerooms found Mr. Wolf not guilty. A mistrial was declared in Mrs. Robbins’s homeroom because the jury couldn’t agree on a verdict. As part of our lesson, students learned how people are selected to serve on a jury and the responsibilities of being a juror.
